Care for linen or cotton bedding
1. Cleanser
■ best use a mild fabric wash. Use ½ of the amount recommended by the manufacturer.
Avoid using liquid softener or bleach.
2. Washing
■ separate light and dark colors, gentle cycle. Using cold or warm temperature,
NOT HOT, small to medium load.
3. Drying
■ tumble dry in moderate temperature. Do not over dry, remove when still damp.
4. Ironing
■ it’s easy to iron linens while it’s still damp, use starch (if desired) to get
crisp look, and iron with lots of steam at medium-to-hot setting. Ironing will make
the linens softer and maintain the beauty and look of the design.
5. Shrinkage
■ occurs with all linens made of natural fibers, the sizing of our bedding allows
for shrinkage. To minimize shrinkage, avoid washing in hot temperature and over drying.
6. Storage
■ clean your linens, then use bags of linen or cotton, acid free tissue paper to wrap your
linens and store in a cool, dry and good ventilated area. Never store linens in plastic
bags, cedar chests or cardboard boxes, these cause yellowing of the linens.
7. Quantity.
■ We recommend at least two sets of sheets for your bed – one on the bed, one in the wash.
Alternate washing your sheets frequently so they wear evenly. Bottom sheets and pillowcases
wear out the fastest – if you love a set sheets, purchase extra fitted sheets and pillow cases.
Change sheets once a week in normal climates, more often in hot and humid regions.
Care for silk bedding
1. Airing out
■ silk bedding should be periodically aired-out (preferably once in every 3 months to release the
moisture absorbed), in an open and well ventilated area but avoid direct sunlight. Airing out
will help silk comforter stay fluffy and restore its softness.
2. Dry clean
■ if cleaning silk bedding becomes absolutely necessary, use a professional dry cleaner.
3. Ironing
■ after airing out silk bedding, iron the pillow and duvet covers, quilt with medium-to-hot setting,
this will restore them to the freshness and beauty of the design.
4. Maintaining
■ keep silk away from cosmetic, perfumes, hairspray and deodorants, the alcohol in these products can
dissolve silk, perspiration can weaken silk and the stain can be difficult to remove.
5. Storage
■ use bags of linen or cotton, acid free tissue paper to wrap your bedding and store in a cool, dry and
good ventilated area. Never store bedding in plastic bags, cedar chests or cardboard boxes,
these cause yellowing of the bedding.
